Pump & Mechanical Seal Workshop – March 15-17, 2022

Join us at the Ferguson Industrial Pump & Mechanical Seal Workshop;  a three-day event in Myrtle Beach, SC, bringing together industry professionals responsible for implementing plant-wide predictive maintenance programs or increasing “mean time between failures” (MTBF) on rotating equipment. You will leave with a clear understanding of mechanical principles and fluid dynamics from product managers from PSG/DOVER and A.W. Chesterton Company.

When:

March 15-17, 2022

Where:

Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort | $142.00/night plus tax

Workshop Overview

Optimizing Pump and Seal life – Considerations for Maintenance and Engineering

The Pump & Mechanical Seal Workshop will explore mechanical principles and fluid dynamics associated with following, but is not limited to as time permits:

Mechanical Seal & Environmental Control School

  • Mechanical seal material, designs, and where to use
  • Environmental controls and piping plans for optimal performance
  • Basic Trouble Shooting of Seal Failure
  • Installation/Operation instructions, training

 Pump Workshop

  • Improper operation – dry running, cavitation, air entrainment, closed discharge, etc.
  • Incorrect pump size – often oversized and throttled
  • Bearing failure – contamination, over/under lubricated, defective, mis-installed, out of tolerance fits (housing bore, snap ring grooves, shaft diameter)
  • Coupling mis-alignment – pump bearing failure (usually thrust bearing), motor bearings, coupling failure
  • Wet End (volute, impeller, back cover, wear rings) – corrosion/erosion reduces efficiency, reliability, flow rate, etc.
  • Inadequate (under designed) pump for application
