Brandon Lawrence

Business Development Manager
Mid-South District

“I feel like Ferguson is a place where, if you’re putting forth your best effort, it’s not hard to move up. Good work and good effort do not go unnoticed here.”

Like so many of us at Ferguson, Brandon got his start at the bottom and worked his way up to where he is today. In 11 years he has grown from a documentation specialist checking packing slips and doing paperwork to a business development manager. But that kind of trajectory doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through hard work and determination, and that’s something else everyone at Ferguson knows quite a bit about.

Brandon began his work life at a small marketing start-up. When it wasn’t delivering a regular paycheck, as many start-ups don’t do in the beginning, he went looking for more stability. He found it at Ferguson. Brandon was able to transfer many key skills from that early job to his role at Ferguson. One was the ability to wear many hats. Here at Ferguson that meant he adapted well to understanding the many various parts of the business as well as how to interact with different people both internally and externally. Another advantage was his experience with pitching and presentations to customers, a foundational skill he continued to strengthen here at Ferguson.

Throughout his career with Ferguson, Brandon says he’s seen a lot of changes in management and strategy. But one thing has stayed the same: Ferguson’s commitment to recognizing hard work. “If you continue bringing your spirit of innovation and your effort to the table, things will fall into place for you,” he says. “That has been the theme of my career path here. I’ve seen areas that need improvement and I’ve stepped into them. The rest has clicked into place. So far it’s taken me across 3 states and several different business groups. And I can’t wait to see what’s next!”
