Dean Rittimann

Branch Manager
Corpus Christi, Texas

Dean is a Texan through and through. It’s evident in the strong work ethic, spirit of generosity, sense of pride, and drive to succeed that motivates him as a leader and as a professional each and every day. He grew up in Boerne, just north of San Antonio, studied at Texas A&M University, joined Ferguson Industrial right out of college in 2015, and today is the proud Branch Manager of the Corpus Christi branch in his beloved Lone Star state.

Growing up seeing his parents run their own plumbing company was an inspiration to Dean, who early on decided he also wanted to pave his own path and prove to the world he could be successful. In college, he majored in industrial distribution and minored in business, which helped him land his first job with Ferguson Industrial in the industrial sector. It has been his home ever since. Today he manages a team of 15 experts, ranging from sales to warehouse, that supports PVF as well as customers’ quality and valve and automation needs in strategic conjunction with another Texas branch.

As a team leader, Dean is focused on delivering excellence for customers by aligning his team for mutual success, which includes making communication, collaboration, and attention to detail priorities in everything they do. He is personally motivated by helping his team grow and advance in their careers through new roles and new opportunities. He says this brings him joy because he knows he’s helping them provide for their families at home as well as experience the satisfaction of success at work. Dean says he likes to see “all ships rise,” and that keeps him pushing forward as they all work together to handle hot orders, manage the curveballs that come their way, make new and existing customers happy, and keep the business growing.

questions and answers
Questions & Answers
Would you rather be the funniest or the smartest person in the room and why?
Answer:

"It depends on the situation. For instance, if it’s a business situation, I don’t want to be the smartest in the room because you can’t learn anything new. I apply this logic to how I build my team. I looked for the smartest people in the areas I needed to hire for and went out and got them. So, my answer would have to be the funniest because I like to keep learning new things, and if you aren’t learning from others around you, you might be in the wrong room."

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Answer:

"Time. There just isn’t enough time in a lifetime for all your personal and business life. You wish you had more time with your family, parents, grandparents, and everything else. Each day you look down at your clock and think about where the time went."

What is something you're planning on doing the next year that you've never done before?
Answer:

"My fiancé and I will be getting married in September, so we are both really excited for that."

What is your favorite food?
Answer:

"Breakfast tacos. Those things are addicting, but I do love a good breakfast taco."

What is your biggest kitchen fail?
Answer:

"I love to cook, so one day a few months back I decided to thaw some steaks in the sink with the water running. That day my mind was all over the place, and I decided to go mow the grass without turning off the water, so when I came back inside, I heard the water still running and noticed that most of the floor was saturated and I had to spend my evening ripping up laminate flooring and repairing that."

If you were a pair of shoes, what would you be and why?
Answer:

"A nice, well-maintained pair of sneakers I’ve had for years. I am a meticulous person, so when I purchase an item like my truck, fishing equipment, etc. I take care of it because it takes so long to earn the money to purchase it, it is worth your time to maintain it."

If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
Answer:

I’d have to say Superman. I love the idea of being able to just fly anywhere whenever I want without having to deal with the airport.
