What did you want to be when you grew up? Garrett is doing exactly what he always said he wanted to do when he grew up. In fact, he has been around the PVF business for as long as he can remember. His father and grandfather were both in the industry, and it piqued his interest from an early age. Garrett was just a kid when he got his official start in the family’s PVF business, sweeping the warehouse to earn tokens for his neighborhood batting cages. Years later, a challenging automation project role set the stage for his career success. Today he’s living his childhood dream career right here at Ferguson Industrial, where he manages the Gulf Coast Valve & Automation team at the Gulf Coast Sales Center.
Garrett leverages his 13 years of industrial experience in his role as a manager focused on delivering custom solutions for customers. He blends his enthusiasm for business strategy and logistics with a genuine passion for understanding how the products he’s selling work. He believes this combination is essential to helping maximize customers’ business success. As a leader, Garrett also credits Ferguson Industrial with its strong support of early-career emerging leaders who are empowered to take ownership of groups and become a driving force in the industry.
For Garrett, there are four cornerstones of success in the industrial environment: flexibility, willingness to learn, critical thinking, and initiative. He strives to continuously learn about customers as well as the industry in order to effectively and efficiently solve customers’ problems while going above and beyond to exceed customers’ expectations.
